"Øvrebø took charge of the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final between Chelsea and Barcelona. However, this turned out to be one of the worst matches of his career, as he was later accused of having wrongfully turned down four seperate Chelsea penalty appeals, and having also made a mistake in sending off Barcelona defender Eric Abidal. He was verbally abused by both Didier Drogba and Michael Ballack of Chelsea at the end of the match, the latter actually running after him shouting abuse."
