"Trilinear filtering is a high quality bilinear filter which uses the four closest pixels in the second most suitable mip map to produce smoother transitions between mip map levels. Trilinear filtering samples eight pixels and interpolates them before rendering. Trilinear filtering always uses mip mapping. Azért a "no performance hit" -et úgy értelmezd, hogy működőképse marad, ha lassul is. A trilinear eléggé megrángatja a vasat és lassít. A bilinear egy kicsit kevésbé veszi igénybe a kártyádat, kisebb a lassulás is.
