Tulajdonképpen mondhatnánk azt is, hogy a videojátékok Oscar-gálája a rendre decemberben megrendezésre kerülő The Game Awards. Persze az összehasonlítás sok szempontból sántít, de az tény, hogy a játékipar számára egy hasonlóan fontos díjátadóról van szó.
Éppen ezért minden évben nagy várakozás előzi meg, hogy az egyes kategóriákban mely játékok, stúdiók, tartalomgyártók és e-sportolók részesülnek a neves elismerésben. Idén huszonkilenc kategóriát hirdettek meg, amelyekben a következő jelölteket állították.

Az idei jelölések között akadnak tehát meglepetések mind a bekerültek, mind a kimaradók tekintetében. Talán sokakat meglep, hogy például a Split Fiction nem szerepel az év játéka jelöltek között. Ahogy az is, hogy a Dispatch több releváns kategóriából is kimaradt. Azon viszont biztosan nem lepődik meg senki, hogy a Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, a Battlefield 6, a Hollow Knight: Silksong vagy épp a Hades II számos kategóriában is jó eséllyel indul.
A The Game Awards 2025 díjátadóját – amely rendre nagy bejelentéseknek is az otthona – december 11-én fogják megtartani, az eseményt természetesen ezúttal is lehet majd online követni, de idén az Amazon Prime Video előfizetői is streamelhetik majd.
